Can the bank force you to pay for the difference between selling price and what was owed if they agreed to take the offer.  There was nothing signed stating that I would be responsible for the difference or that they would forgive the difference.  The realestate agent that I used was communicating with the Bank and has documentation that the bank would take the loss if the realestate would take less they all agreed , at closing I signed the title work and the bank received a 197,000.00 $ check there was approx 213,000.00 left on the loan.  they have called me and I have spoke with them they want me to pay the total difference however they want to add the difference onto my vehicle loan I have with them which would make a 2008 vehicle worth about 20,000.00$
I ask them to take less than the approx 16,000.00 that I could not afford a higher payment than what I already pay on the truck.  I think I should seek legal counsel unless this is standard practice.  Had I known the difference would not have been forgiven we could have held out for another buyer closer to the price we needed.  I have no idea what to do am I at the mercy of the Bank should I go ahead and just let them put that difference on my vehicle loan and try to make a higher payment when I know I can’t I’m just setting my self up for failure..
